Human Factors – Hazardous Attitudes

Here's the bottom line on hazardous attitudes: all of us have them. They are dangerous and potentially lethal if we allow them to affect our normally sound decision making ability. Hazardous attitudes in aviation have been studied, clearly identified, and follow a few basic forms. They can be easy to recognize with just a little training, and that is what this module covers.

When someone intentionally deviates from a known policy or procedure, the question always seems to be "why?" First we'll introduce the Violation Producing Conditions, or VPCs, that affect us most often. After that, we will take a look at how we fall victim to VPCs and how to protect ourselves.
